If you’re anything like me, you’re probably spending time in the sun and  then retreating inside when you just can’t take it anymore.  Whenever I’m in this weird balance, I like to do what I can to bring the outdoors inside with me. My favorite way to do this is through houseplants. They not only make me feel like it’s still summer indoors, but they really bring life to any space.  Some of my favorite low maintenance houseplants are pothos or snake plants. Rubber trees are low maintenance and grow pretty steadily year round. I personally love a good terra cotta as they are affordable and now come in a variety of colors and shapes. You can find these at just about any nursery, too! Some of my favorite nurseries around the city are [Family Tree](https://www.familytreenursery.com/), [Soil Service](https://www.soilservice.com/), and if you’re up north, [Larry’s](https://larrysnursery.com/) is my number one. They have tons of affordable options and friendly folks to help make sure you’re set! All that being said, I am no plant expert. I am however lucky enough to know one!
