Four simple ways to refresh your outdoor space

As it warms up, it’s the perfect time to spruce up your outdoor living spaces!

A few of my favorite simple things to make a large impact deal with color, accessories, and lighting (this shouldn’t come as any surprise). Let's dive in!

1. Throw pillows are a great way to freshen up the space, and make it feel more warm and inviting. It's an easy way to introduce color or pattern to an exterior space without breaking the bank!

I love this pillow from West Elm and this one from World Market.

2. Another way to introduce color is through plants. There are so many beautiful options that thrive in our sunny, humid climate. Grab a few to pot, or go the extra step and plant some annuals that will continue to bring joy for years to come! If you don’t know what to choose, it’s always fun to look at complimentary colors of your home and go from there.

I recommend Elephant Ears and Monstera (both like indirect bright light and will tell you when they want water), Mandevilla (they love sun and water and can be a potted annual), and Pansies (an easy, reblooming annual for a pot or in the ground).

3. If you’ve already got pillows and plants down, lighting is equally important outside as it is indoors. This will be the “yes” factor of a great exterior living space. Solar-powered string lights are a great option, but don’t forget to add some extras along pathways, or even invest in some rechargeable lamps to set around.

Here's a set of string lights, and I love these rechargeable table lamps.

4. Lastly, grab a few cute citronella candles to send away the bugs that also thrive in our weather, turn some music on, and enjoy your cozy new space.

I like these from World Market and this one from Target.
